Movin' Right Along To My Favorite Car Movies!!!!

Okay so I am having a little fun before Friday.  It really feels like it could be Friday!  Before I get to my favorite car movie list here is a little fun from me!

Kermit & Fozzie singing "Movin' Right Along" in the 1979 movie "The Muppets"

I am a HUGE Muppet fan and sorry I just could not resist the urge to put this in.  This song brings me back to when I was 5 years old!  Love that.

Okay so onto the movies.  Here are some of my favorite car movies.  One of the best is American Graffiti.  Okay so this is a little before my time, but come on, with George Lucas producing and a bunch of really old hot rods you can't go wrong.

Road Warrior also makes my list.   Well it has my favorite man Mel Gibson for one, but what about that Ford Falcon Coupe?  Nice.

Smokey And The Bandit makes my list on the 77 Trans Am alone, but hey the cast isn't half bad either.  Sally Field was very attractive in her day!

Gone in 60 Seconds both versions make my list.  The older version was let's just say not a good movie, but the car chase is awesome!  Can I still say that without acting old?  Anyway, the newer version with Nicholas Gage and Angelina Jolie is far better as far as the acting goes.   This car has so many exotic cars it's hard to keep up with.

Herbie The Love Bug (and all the rest) This movie was originally introduced in 1968.  I just love the 1963 Beetle which seems to have people characteristics to boot.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles makes it onto my list because of the car they rent.  John Candy and Steve Martin are two unlikely guys just trying to make it home after a run in at the airport.  One of the funniest scenes is this rental car getting torn to smithereens.  You can actually never make out what type of vehicle this is.  I'm sure this was done on purpose.  The conclusion on the web seems to be that it was a Chrysler LeBaron Convertible (1983 or 84) with Town & Country side panels.

Fast & Furious Series this one is an obvious pick, not to mention it has my fav Vin Diesel and Paul Walker.  What's not to like?

A few family movies to mention:  RV with Robin Williams from 2006.  I thought this was pretty cute.  And most little boys favorite the Cars movies.  With a huge cast for the voices like Owen Wilson, Paul Newman, Cheech Marin, Larry the Cable Guy and more this was a big success for Disney.

What are you favorite movies with cars in them?
