Are Salesmen Really This Bad?
Are Salesmen Really This Bad?
What you should know.
Okay so any of my family can contend that I am a HUGE Simpson fan. So what does that have to do with cars? After you watch this hilarious clip of Homer trying to buy an RV read below.
My Tuesday Tip for the week is what to look for in a car salesman. I know we all have had some bad run ins with salespeople and car salesmen get the brunt of all jokes. They are thought of as being shysters and just out to get you. I honestly think this is a way of the past and is truly not practiced much anymore. If you encounter a salesman like the one above, RUN!
What should you be looking for?
For starters they should have worked in car sales for a while. Not just anyone can nor should sell cars and it is a more complicated system than it looks.
They should be knowledgeable about the cars they are selling. They should not be continually asking someone else about the cars.
They should know about any rebates and/or sales that are ongoing for their dealership or the manufacturer.
They should not be overly opinionated about the cars or pushy. Again RUN if they are.
Most importantly, they should listen to you and understand what it is you are looking for. For instance, if you say "We have 5 children and are looking for a vehicle that can accommodate all of us", he should not be showing you a 2 door sport car.
I am sure there are some points I am missing. These are the ideas I feel are important to highlight. What about your experiences? Any really good or bad ones?
