Tuesday's Tip of the Week
You go out the car in the morning after running the car a while due to the cold, you look up and what do you see? A huge crack has suddenly appeared. How many times has this happened to you? I have lost count personally. The first thing I want to do is yell a curse word. But usually my kids are in the car, so probably not a good idea.
After calming down, I immediately think of my insurance coverage. I have had insurance in the past that would cover this, no cost to me, due to a higher premium that I was paying. There are also some insurance companies that will waive this deductible. Although, most of the time the deductible that most carry is $500, which is not going to be the cost of replacement windshield. I would advise depending on how big the crack is to get the crack filled before it gets out of hand. I know there are a lot of glass companies today that will come to you, even at your work parking lot! Talk about convenient. Make sure you get this taken care of before it covers the entire windshield and it might not pass inspection for the plates, (for those states such as MO).
