The Add-Ons That Don't Add-Up!!!

Spoilers, New Rims, Stereo Equipment and Running Lights.  What do all of these items have in common?  They are all add-ons to cars.  Manufacturers rarely come out with any of these additions to vehicles.  And there is a reason for that.  It's called customization.

Customization to vehicles is individuals putting their own personality into their car.  Now while all of these items are very cool, not everyone wants these additions.  A common misconception is that adding these items to your car makes it more valuable.  And the truth is it does not.

In reality car dealerships just see these as regular items on the cars.  Not added value.  They know that their average customers will not want these additions and it will cost them    more to actually take these off and replace them with regular parts.

So here is my advice to those cutomizers out there, and you know who you are.....carefully consider how long you are going to keep this car.  If you are going to keep it the life of the car then go ahead and customize away.  However, if you are planning on trading it in or selling it at some point, make sure you take off the new fangles off.  Because the only one that wants them is you!
