2012 Greater Kansas City International Auto Show
As this was my first time at a car show, I have to say I was impressed. I didn't know what to expect or understand exactly what the purpose of the car show was. This is especially the case when you see a car that has wine corks all over it. Or better yet, an older model Mustang turned into a pool table!
I came away with a good idea of what it was all about and what the draw is for the average Joe to go every year. I think I expected the salesmen to be right on top of you, but they pretty much kept to themselves unless you specifically approached them. Each of the car manufacturers had really brought their best cars to show off and almost all of them had brought the new 2012 models. Also, included were the new prototypes and small eco-friendly cars.

Definitely the neatest display was from Jeep. They had a small driving course which simulated rough terrain and a very steep incline. My husband asked me if I wanted to take the test drive, I said "no" (but I fail to also mention that I have never liked Jeep). Besides I thought it odd that only women were taking the test drives!
There was also a large Army display, very impressive. It seems they are trying to reach a younger crowd for sure. I was wishing my 13 year old son was there. They had shooting games, a big semi with videos playing about careers in the Army and artillery trucks.
****This article will be continued on Sunday. I will be blogging my personal favs and disses. Anyone can attend the auto show at Bartle Hall in downtown KC today thru Sunday.
